The "starting price" shown in most software comparisons is the 1-user, annual billing, base-tier price. Your real cost is almost always higher. Here's what to budget for:
- Per-user fees
Most platforms charge per user per month. A 10-person team on Jobber Connect pays $149+/mo — not the $99 advertised for 1 user. Calculate your real user count including office staff before comparing quotes.
- Required tiers for key features
GPS tracking, QuickBooks sync, and job costing are almost always gated behind mid or upper tiers. A low starting price can mean a 3x jump before you get the features you actually need.
- Setup and onboarding fees
FieldEdge charges $500–2,000 in setup fees. ServiceTitan's implementation often requires a paid partner. Jobber and Housecall Pro have no setup fees. Add these to your 12-month cost comparison.
- Payment processing fees
